Reading, 6th January 2020 - Invenio Business Solutions has announced the appointment of Leon Biegalski as Chief Global Advisor for its Public Sector practice. Leon will work with Invenio’s Head of Public Sector Chandan Vashista to help public sector customers identify gaps and build a roadmap for digital transformation, ultimately creating business opportunities and organisational growth in the sector.
Leon has over 25 years of public sector leadership, policy advising, lobbying, and contract procurement experience, including administrative and regulatory law practice experience across multiple agencies. Leon started his Public Sector career in 1993 serving many roles within the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR), including as a prosecuting attorney, licensing board executive director, director of pari-mutuel wagering, chief attorney, deputy general counsel, special counsel, and general counsel. Leon also worked as Deputy Secretary of Business Regulation for DBPR, where he led several divisions and oversaw a range of regulatory matters, including the collection and safeguarding of wagering, alcohol, and tobacco activity tax revenues. Additionally, Leon spent time in private law practice as well as other public sector agencies such as the Florida Department of Transportation and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
In his most recent role, he was appointed by the State of Florida’s Governor and Cabinet to serve as the Executive Director of the Florida Department of Revenue. There he was responsible for providing leadership and direction for day-to-day operations of Florida’s largest tax agency, which is the third most populous state in the US and 17th largest economy in the world, exceeding $1 trillion.
