Mumbai, India – 28th February 2019 – Invenio Business Solutions are delighted to have had over 100 employees competing in two marathon events last month – the 8th Annual Powai Run in Mumbai and the Winter Half Marathon in Delhi.
The Powai Run was organised by the Rotary Club of Mumbai Lakers, with all proceeds from this fantastic annual event are donated to charity. This year, the money raised went to charities that support a cause close to our hearts – the empowerment of women across India. The Winter Half Marathon in Delhi was organised by Run for Life, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to increasing awareness of the benefits of long-distance running, particularly among young people, as well as helping to provide education for under-privileged children.
The Powai Run event was again held at the Hiranandani Complex and Powai Lake, providing a beautifully scenic and accessible route that was highly recommended by the 13,000 runners who took part last year. With the choice of running a 4km, 10km or 21km marathon, the event was accessible to people of all ages and abilities.
Once the runners had completed the main event, they had the opportunity to relax and have a bit of fun at the Powai Run Carnival. With music and dancing, a variety of shows, kid’s areas and entertainment, tree climbing, parades, bhangra, an all-important late breakfast, plus much more on offer, it was the perfect way to celebrate the day.
The Winter Half Marathon, now in its 3rd year, was held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. Despite some unexpectedly heavy rain on the day, more than 50 Invenio colleagues came out to run and still had a fantastic experience contributing to this worthy cause.
