Reading, UK – 5th August 2021 - The National Bureau for Revenue (NBR) announced that it has successfully migrated its core SAP TRM systems from AWS Ireland to the Bahrain region, supported by Invenio and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Under the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) instructions, the NBR completed the migration in line with ambitious project timelines. The migration was completed by highly trained NBR, Invenio and AWS experts in cooperation with the iGA.
The project scope included infrastructure improvements for better performance, stability, security, and reduction of the overall cost. The migration allows NBR to be more agile, improve performance by 85%, tighten security, and provide a better customer experience while reducing the total cost of ownership (TCO) by 50%. The go-live went ahead, and business was conducted without any disruption to services to achieve this significant milestone.
The NBR’s Chief Executive Rana Ebrahim Faqihi expressed pride in the remarkable achievement and noted that “the commitment and dedication of the project teams played a central role in the completion of the migration.”
